Jamal, a modern-day poet, realizes the struggle to get his work published parallels the challenges Mir Taqi Mir, a renowned poet from the 18th century, experienced as he reads the poet’s biography. Pakistan’s vibrant history of music, dance, and poetry are beautifully showcased as the film jumps between the present and the past to tell the story of intense love and passion that inspires two artists at two different, distinctive times.
