Saturday, February 25, 2017 – 10:00 AM
Special Guests: Writer Sarmad Sehbai and event host Ayesha Gilani Taylor
Jamal, a modern-day poet, realizes the struggle to get his work published parallels the challenges Mir Taqi Mir, a renowned poet from the 18th century, experienced as he reads the poet’s biography. Pakistan’s vibrant history of music, dance, and poetry are beautifully showcased as the film jumps between the present and the past to tell the story of intense love and passion that inspires two artists at two different, distinctive times. Ayesha Gilani will host a Q&A session with writer Sarmad Sehbai following the film.
